Students going on homestay to Kyoto Gakuen in Kyoto Japan have been coming to my room M110 every second Thursday in 2017 for Japan Club. The club meets over the lunch hour. As the time for the homestay approaches students will begin to meet with me every week. In the club we learn about aspects of Japanese culture and language. So far we have talked about these subjects:
In our last class we did some conversation practice with the following questions and answers: お元気ですか。O genki desu ka? Genki desu. - How are you? I'm fine. Nan sai desu ka? ____ sai desu. - How old are you? I'm ___. - What's your favourite _____? Ichiban suki na ____wa ___ desu. My favourite __ is. In the coming classes we will discuss other areas of Japanese culture including music, manga, and so on. Students in grades 7 ~ 9 who are going to Japan are encouraged to attend. We also have two designated students in grade 4 who actively assist with the club activities. I am open to suggestions from students about any topics you would like to learn about before you go to Japan! Feel free to e-mail me or tell me at our next meeting! |
