We are lucky to have an artist in residence coming in to work with all of the Grade 4's! Thank you to Parent Council for funding this unique activity. Each Grade 4 will be making a pysanky egg to show cultural appreciation for an influential group of people that helped settle Alberta. People immigrated to Alberta from the Ukraine in waves due to the promise of acres of fertile farmland. One of their traditions is making pysanky eggs. Each grade 4 class will have a workshop to create their own egg based off the Ukrainian tradition. The dates for each class are listed below:
4B and 4D - Friday, May 5 4A and 4C - Friday, May 11 4E and 4F - Thursday, May 17 Students will be working with raw eggs and can wear gloves if they have an allergy. They should also wear a shirt that is okay if they happen to get dye on it. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Moldovan - [email protected]
