Welcome to the 39th and 40th weeks of school at NCS! As this week (the last week of school!) was a short week, I combined last week and this week's blog posts together! Last week students continued to work on their ABC's of Grade 4 scrap books, and continued to work towards finishing their Multicultural Project! Students worked so hard and stay on task most of the time! They did great! Students also had a chance to return library books and we began to send home dustings, journals and book bins. Yearbooks also went home last week if you ordered one! On Thursday, June 21st we had our student multicultural fair! A great time was had by all and the posters looked great in all of the classrooms! Many students brought in fantastic artifacts students really were able to experience and learn about new cultures. There was so much tasty food! Please see below for some photos of the event. This week was a short but fun week. Students finished their ABC's scrapbook, and had a chance to present and share. It was really nice to see the finished products of their really hard work this past month. Today, we had our last day of school for the year! We had a sports day, (see below for a few photos), as well as, time to sign our year books, a movie, a picnic and an assembly. It was a fun last day. All of the grade 4 students have learned so much this year, and I have enjoyed being their teacher so much! I hope everyone has a fun and safe summer. Students, I am very grateful that I had this opportunity to be your humanities teacher this year. I hope you made amazing memories and made wonderful friends. Always remember to chase your dreams and to be kind to one another. Until next September,
Ms. Clark

Welcome to the 38th week of school at NCS! This week, students continued to work on their ABC's of grade 4 projects! The scrapbooks look absolutely amazing, and the students have put SO much work into them. Our goal by the end of today was to be done letter L. A few students are taking home their ABC's scrapbooks to work on - STUDENTS: please make sure to bring them back on Monday so we can continue next week in class! Please see below for a few photos from this week! This week, students also worked on their multicultural project. On Monday and Tuesday, students had time to finish researching about their countries. On Wednesday, students were able to start their posters! Some students chose to bring in a trip-fold, while others chose to use brightly colored poster paper that we had at school. So far, the posters look great! The student multicultural fair is on Thursday, June 21st. An email went out to parents earlier this week about the fair. You can also check the main blog. Below are a few pictures of some of their posters! Two more weeks to go! Fun lunch is next Wednesday.
Have a great weekend, Ms. Clark Welcome to the 37th week of school at NCS! Final month of the year! This week has been another busy one here at Nose Creek. Monday, we had our Volunteer Appreciation Night. A few students parents were able to make it out from Grade 4, and for those parents that have volunteered, but could not make it out to the appreciation night, we thank you so very much for your hard work this year! Additionally, Many students across all of the grades took part in the 6th Annual Nose Creek Triathlon on Tuesday! It was sure nice to see so much Kodiak SPIRIT here at school! Thursday Night was Nose Creek's Taste of the Arts night, which was also a wonderful night had buy all! It was inspiring to see all of the art, music and drama that students worked on all year! See below for a few photos from the event! Then, on Wednesday, all Grade 4's went on our year end field trip to Heritage Park! Students got to explore the various parts of Heritage Park, while on our scavenger hunt. There were math, science and humanities questions to try. It was great weather, and a great experience for our students. It seems as if students loved to see what life was like, but also enjoyed the train, learning about schools in the past, as well as, hits like the bakery, candy shop, and the amusement park. I know my group had fun running around to the different areas and speaking with people who worked at heritage park. They also liked looking around the different buildings. Below you will see a few photos that I took while at the park! Although it was a busy week around Nose Creek, students also had a chance to work on their Year End Projects! This week, students completed the rough copies of the "ABC's of Grade 4" Project. We also had an opportunity to self and partner edit on Thursday. Today (Friday), students started on their good copies of the ABC's project! We started on our title pages, and worked from there! We will continue with good copies next week. I told students that if there is anything they want to bring from home to decorate, they are welcome to do so! Below are a few photos from students starting on their title pages. Students also worked on their Multicultural Cultural Project this week. They have each picked their countries, and are well underway for their research! Research is due Wednesday, as we are starting out with our good copy/posters.
Please Note: There may be a few students who are bringing their research or ABC's work home this weekend to catch up. Important Information: -Next week we will be continuing with our Year End Projects -Letter to go home next week about the Multicultural Fair, which will take place on June 21st. Have a great weekend, Ms. Clark |
