Welcome to week 3 in Grade 4 at Nose Creek School!
Last week was think pink week at NCS! There were lots of activities that students were able to take part in, including pink hair day, or the Dance last Thursday. Many students went to the dance and some went to other activities (like art or movies). The school has raised over 4000.00 dollars already, way to go! This week students are continuing to get into their daily routines, opening up lockers, and heading to all sorts of classes (remember to check the schedule on the right sidebar for more information if you need)! This week students also got a tour of the Learning Commons and were even able to check out some books! Remember to return books by the due date (on your bookmark)! In Humanities, we're working on a variety of tasks including working on editing our stories, mapping/how to read maps, the 6 regions of Alberta (where they are, what they look like, climate, etc), and also, students have been working on their stamina reading! Stamina reading is where students independently read without distractions, with any book of their choosing! Students have been able to read up to 15 minutes and are doing a great job! Next week we'll begin to work on responses to reading, and start a few work stations that will focus on a variety of topics, so stay tuned! Meet the Teacher is this Thursday, September 21st from 5-7 pm. The information sessions will run at 5, 5:30, and 6 pm. See you there!

Welcome to the second week of School! Last week I had a chance to meet all students in 4A and 4C, and I am looking forward to a great year! I am the homeroom teacher for 4C, and I've attached your schedule here on my blog (just look on the right hand side, grey button). You also have this schedule printed in your locker, and you took one home in your agenda on Friday, so please make sure you share with your parents! This week in Humanities, we will begin to work on many different things including: reading, creative writing with picture prompts and mapping/looking at Canada and the province of Alberta! Don't forget to try and read at home for at least 10-15 minutes every night! This can be any kind of reading that you might enjoy, including novels, articles, recipes, graphic novels, short stories- basically anything! Happy reading! Hope your first full week back is going wonderfully! Hello Grade Fours!
